Projects:
Reader on the History of Everyday Life
The aim of the project is to create a combined teaching aid (reader, textbook, workbook). With a shift towards problem-oriented teaching and working with primary sources, the lack of materials that can be used in teaching practice appears to be a key issue. This does not only concern "ready-made" tasks, but also sets of resources that teachers and students can work with according to their own intentions. The final output will contribute to filling this gap.
The reader will cover the period from 1848 to 1998 and offer both didactic and unedited sources of a memorial nature on topics such as gender, ethnicity, violence, and leisure time. It is not intended as a supplement to "grand history," but rather as a tool for presenting a perspective from below—through the eyes of actors who would otherwise not be included in textbooks.
